Every year travel trends shift, but some destinations have an enduring charm that calls to me no matter the calendar. 2026 promises new adventures, from hidden gems to exotic cities ready to be explored.

For me, travel isn’t just a checklist or stamps on my passport it is engaging myself in local culture, tasting local foods, discovering experiences that leave a lasting impression and sharing the locals’ stories.

In this guide, I’ll share the best places to travel in 2026, based on personal insights and attractive sites. Whether you’re a seasoned or solo traveller or planning your first adventurous trip, this guide aims to spark inspiration.

Best Places to Travel in Africa

Africa’s diversity is unmatched, with the beautiful scenery, fascinating beaches and incredible wildlife. In 2026, I focused on destinations where nature, culture, adventure converge and the experience is mind-blowing.

Kenya

Kenya’s beauty is defined by the famous and interesting safaris and the rhythm, resilience and natural beauty.

I spent days in the Maasai Mara spotting lions, elephants, and zebras, feeling both amazed and thrilled by the wildlife.

Lodges are available in the Maasai Mara and Serengeti and during early morning game drives, you can often see lions and giraffes. Many of this lodges offer sunset bush dinners or bonfires adventure.

Diani beach is a premier luxury destination, that offers a remarkable mind- mind-blowing adventurous activities, like kitesurfing, scuba diving, and snorkelling.

Local eateries serve Swahili curry and activities like spice farm tours or snorkeling trips to the Marine Park often offer a unique experience.

Kenya is a country that moves at its own pace and the people are friendly and beautiful. As a family or solo traveller, that means you’ll never forget the adventure and first time you hear lions at night from a canvas tent.
